This modern take on a woodland garden design was created for a young family in South Woodford, East London. The garden was on an awkwardly shaped triangular plot with a mature Oak tree at the centre.
We were asked to create a relaxed family garden design including an area for the children to play, storage space, a small herb garden and a lounge seating area instead of more formal dining.
Using the Oak tree as our inspiration we created a modern woodland garden. Clean geometric shapes were used to re-shape the space and pretty cottage garden and woodland plants to soften the design and link with the majestic Oak.
To take further advantage of the beautiful tree a carved oak swing was hung for the children to enjoy close to a their play space. Here simple timber cubes enhance the woodland feel and provide simple natural seating.
